Eat A Green Tea Salad
Your Mum always told you to #Eat Your Tea and to #Eat Your Greens
So when you get the chance to do both by eating a green tea salad AND get to tick off a food bucket list item at the same time, you know you are well and truly onto a winner!
Now we must at this point disclose that we are talking about fermented green tea, which on face value sounds a little strange. However if you can get over the oddness of the concept, this combination of tea and fresh salad genuinely works. It’s tasty, super memorable and extremely healthy.
The salad featured in the picture above comprised:
- Red onions
- Fermented Burmese tea leaves and bean, nut and seed mix from The Lost Tea Company
- Fresh Spinach
Getting over the fermentation ‘mental hurdle’
Fermentation is the chemical breakdown of a substance by bacteria, yeast, or other microorganisms – often producing heat as a byproduct during the process. On face value, it does not sound like a process that is going to leave anything that you are going to want to eat. However, the chances are that some of your favourite food and drink staples are made using some form of fermentation process. Items like:
